Clinton Clips To Feature National Multiple Sclerosis Society On Tuesday!
CLINTON, Conn. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Connecticut Chapter will be featured on Clinton Clips on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.
The featured topic will be a discussion about the upcoming 2007 Travelers MS Walk event taking place on Sunday, April 22, in eight communities statewide, including Clinton, and a ninth in Woodstock, Conn., on Sunday, April 29.
Clinton Clips, a weekly informational broadcast presented by Comcast Communications on local public access channel 19, airs Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show reaches more than 3,500 homes throughout Clinton, Killingworth, Westbrook, Haddam, Durham, Essex, Old Saybrook, Chester and Deep River, Conn.
“I am pleased to feature the Greater Connecticut Chapter,” said Peter M. Mezzetti, the host and executive producer of Clinton Clips. “Morgan High School in Clinton will be hosting the walk event for the fifth year. I’m glad to be a part of helping to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis.”
More than 6,000 Connecticut residents battle the effects of multiple sclerosis (MS) daily. In a show of support, each year, hundreds of loved ones, friends, neighbors and co-workers throughout Clinton and surrounding communities lace up and step out in solidarity for a single cause to end the devastating effects of MS.
Last year, despite pouring rain, more than 200 Clinton residents exchanged sneakers for goulashes and sunglasses for umbrellas to step out to find a cure. In 2006, Clinton participants helped to raise more than $86,000 toward the $1 million goal.
Morgan High School will, for a fifth year, host the Travelers MS Walk, presented by UnitedHealth Group, on Sunday, April 22. Check-in and registration begin at 8 a.m., and participants will step out at 9 a.m. Lunch is provided by Subway and Coca-Cola.
